A meeting of the District Health Committee was held in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma. Chief Development Officer Shatrohan Vaishya, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ram Badan Ram, Principal of the Medical College and MOICs of all community and primary health centers including CMS were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, the District Magistrate reviewed various schemes and programs run by the Health Department point by point. He gave clear instructions that strict action should be taken against doctors and lower level employees who are negligent in health services. In the meeting, the progress of health services of the district, maternal and child health, vaccination, various national health programs including Ayushman Bharat Scheme were reviewed.

Instructions to improve health indices

It was told in the review that the district got eighth rank in district health indices in May 2026, while in June 2026 it got 21st rank. The District Magistrate directed the medical officers in-charge of poorly performing blocks Jasrana, Araon, Tundla and urban areas to take corrective action. Also, instructions were given to issue notice to the concerned officers. In the latest situation, Firozabad district has reached 13th position in health indices. The District Magistrate directed the officers to continuously improve their performance.

Emphasis on payment within 48 hours in Janani Suraksha Yojana

While reviewing the Maternal Health and Janani Suraksha Yojana, the District Magistrate directed that 100% payment for deliveries in government hospitals should be ensured within 48 hours. It was told that Firozabad stands first in the state in the payment of Janani Suraksha Yojana with 87 percent progress. However, the District Magistrate expressed displeasure when the progress of payment in the District Women's Hospital was found to be 73.57 percent. He directed to seek clarification from the concerned JSY operators and take action for termination of service if there is no improvement in the work.

Action against seven doctors for negligence in Ayushman card

During the review of Ayushman Bharat Scheme and Golden Card, it was told that so far 7,27,789 Ayushman cards have been made against 10,39,554 targeted beneficiaries in the district. The District Magistrate expressed dissatisfaction when the progress of making Ayushman cards for senior citizens above 70 years of age was found to be 75.3 percent. At the same time, if there was zero progress in making Ayushman cards at seven urban primary health centres, instructions were given to terminate the services of the concerned contract doctors. These include Dr. Karan Upadhyay of UHWC Om Nagar, Dr. Prince Pal Dhangar of UHWC Kakrau, Prachi Gupta of UHWC Sant Nagar, Dr. Piyusha Yadav of UHWC Yadav Colony, Rameshwar Dayal of UHWC Datauji Khurd, Dr. Shreya Singh of UHWC Etah Road Tundla and Dr. Abhishek Yadav of UHWC Ajmeri Gate Urdu Nagar.

Instructions to speed up Aura ID and HPV vaccination

In the review of Abha ID creation, it was told that out of the 16.55 lakh target population of the district, 10.67 lakh Abha IDs have been made so far. The District Magistrate gave instructions to make Abha ID of the remaining beneficiaries soon. During the review of HPV vaccination campaign, the District Magistrate expressed dissatisfaction over the low progress. He instructed to speed up the vaccination campaign being conducted to protect girls from cervical cancer. Also asked to run a special awareness campaign with schools, parents and local communities to remove social misconceptions regarding HPV vaccine.

Alerted to officials regarding dengue

The District Magistrate directed to provide accessible and quality medical facilities to the patients at all CHCs and PHCs and to ensure availability of medicines in adequate quantity. He said that negligence in health services will not be tolerated at any level. Timely payment for institutional deliveries, making of Ayushman card and regular vaccination should be completed on priority basis. The District Magistrate said that the district is extremely sensitive from dengue point of view. Therefore, all responsible officers should not allow waterlogging anywhere in their areas and should keep spraying medicines from time to time as per requirement. He also instructed to take special precautions for cleanliness and prevention of mosquito-borne diseases.
