Your budget has changed from September 1! Inflation hits everything from LPG to milk and cars, air travel rules also changed

New Delhi. With the beginning of September, many important changes to budget, travel and everyday needs of the general public have come into effect. The price of commercial LPG cylinder has increased from September 1, 2026, while the wholesale price of milk in Mumbai has been increased by Rs 9 per liter. On the other hand, Tata Motors and Hyundai cars have also become expensive.

Apart from this, the deadline for e-KYC for LPG consumers has ended, while the rules to immigration stamp on boarding passes for passengers traveling abroad have changed. Know what has changed from September 1 and how much impact it will have on your pocket.

1. Commercial LPG cylinder expensive, domestic cylinder price stable

Government oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹ 9.50 to ₹ 11.50.

According to the new prices-

  • Delhi: ₹2,747.50, earlier ₹2,738.00
  • Mumbai: ₹2,701.00, earlier ₹2,691.50
  • Kolkata: ₹2,884.00, earlier ₹2,872.50
  • Chennai: ₹2,916.50, earlier ₹2,906.00

However, there is relief for domestic consumers. There has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder.

Cost of commercial gas may impact the cost of restaurants, hotels and dhabas. The catering budget is also likely to increase during the festive season and weddings.

2. Milk costlier by ₹9 per liter in Mumbai

There has been a big increase in the wholesale price of milk in Mumbai. Bombay Milk Producers Association has increased the price of bulk milk by ₹9 per liter to ₹102. Earlier the wholesale rate was ₹93 per litre.

The new rate will be applicable till 28 February 2027. Increase in wholesale prices may impact the retail market. Due to this, the prices of curd, cheese and sweets made from milk may also increase.

3. Milk procurement rate increased in Tamil Nadu also

Aavin has increased the milk procurement rate by ₹ 3 per liter in Tamil Nadu. After this the purchase rate has become ₹44 per litre.

The increase in the cost of milk has been attributed to the increase in costs like green fodder, straw, cake, animal maintenance and transportation.

4. LPG e-KYC deadline ends, subsidy may be affected

The deadline for LPG biometric identification i.e. e-KYC, made mandatory by oil companies, has ended on August 31.

Consumers who have not completed e-KYC by the stipulated time may face difficulty in getting LPG subsidy. Apart from this, problems to refill booking may also arise.

Such consumers have been advised to contact their respective gas agency.

5. Changed immigration rules for travelers going abroad

From September 1, 2026, the system of stamping the immigration counter on the boarding passes of passengers going abroad from Indian airports has been abolished.

Now under the digital immigration process, passengers will be able to show digital e-boarding pass on mobile phones. This is expected to reduce the queues at the immigration counter and speed up the departure process.

6. Tata Motors cars costlier by ₹ 25 thousand

Tata Motors has increased prices across all its models and variants by up to ₹25,000. The new prices have become effective from September 1.

The company has cited increase in the cost of raw materials, operating expenses and inflationary pressure as the reasons behind the price increase.

7. Prices of Hyundai cars also increased

Hyundai India has also increased the ex-showroom prices of its vehicles by up to 1 percent.

According to the company, this price revision has been done amid the pressure of rising commodity prices and operating costs. This means that those buying a new car from September may have to pay a higher price than before.
