IndiGo flight 6E 2102 from Goa to Delhi averted a major disaster due to a technical glitch after take-off, in which the aircraft returned after reaching an altitude of 14,000 feet.
It was reported that one of the engines of this flight, which departed from Goa’s Mopa airport at 9:16 am for Delhi, suddenly suffered a technical fault. ATC made an emergency landing at the airport at 9:30 am in view of the seriousness of the situation within minutes of take off. Meanwhile, the pilot showed skill and decided to turn the plane back from a height of about 14,000 feet and made a safe landing at Runway 28 of Mopa Airport in Goa at 9:51 am. After landing, the aircraft was parked at stand number 6 and the emergency was withdrawn at 10:03 am.
Fortunately, all the passengers on board the plane are completely safe in this incident and no casualties have been reported. After a safe landing, all the passengers were taken out safely and made to rest in the boarding area of the airport. A new revised flight time has now been fixed at 3:30 PM for all these passengers intending to fly to Delhi, which will depend on the required clearance and operational requirements. A detailed official statement is yet to come from IndiGo Airlines regarding the incident, but the pilot’s promptness and the cooperation of the ATC saved the lives of hundreds of passengers
