Transfer deadline day lived up to expectations as Premier League clubs moved quickly to get deals over the line before the window shut.

Manchester City matched the British transfer record by signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, although that was far from the only major move completed on the day. Iliman Ndiaye also joined in a £65m deal, while Jack Grealish made a loan return to Everton.

Tottenham moved decisively to bring in Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea, while Newcastle also completed a major signing with Matias Fernandez-Pardo arriving from Lille for £51.4m.

Elsewhere, England internationals Ben Chilwell and Ainsley Maitland-Niles came back to the Premier League from France, while Brighton, Fulham and Hull all added highly rated young midfield talent.
