The Brazilian is on the verge of a move to the Super Lig and has been left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad.

Richarlison has been axed by Tottenham Hotspur after not being included in the club’s submitted 25-man Premier League squad list.

The development comes only days after reports said Richarlison had asked the club to let him leave, with Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor entering the picture and pushing to sign him.

The Brazilian had also been close to a return to Everton, but he eventually rejected the Toffees following unsuccessful negotiations.

Richarlison was a key figure in Spurs’ fight to avoid relegation last season, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 32 Premier League appearances.

His only appearance so far this season came as a starter against Brentford, when he played 61 minutes in a 3-0 defeat.

Last Saturday, before Spurs suffered a second straight defeat by going down 2-0 at home to Newcastle United, De Zerbi gave a short and blunt verdict on the Brazilian’s future.

“Richarlison has said too many times that he wants to leave,” the Italian said.

“I love these players, and these are great guys - but if they want to leave, they have to bring the economic solution to the club.

“Then they can go, and we’ll find other players [to replace them],” De Zerbi concluded.

Days later, Richarlison’s name was missing from Spurs’ 25-man squad list amid rumours that the Brazilian is set to move to the Super Lig.

The 29-year-old was linked by two Turkish transfer experts with Trabzonspor, the current club of Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah.

That update came days after Richarlison posted on Instagram to disclose that negotiations between him and former club Everton had broken down.

“My intention was to go back to the place where I was very happy, yes,” wrote the 29-year-old. “But the negotiations happened only in the way certain people wanted.

“It will no longer be like that. I am under contract at Spurs and will remain at the club’s disposal,” he concluded, before links with the Turkish top flight surfaced.
