Automobile Desk: Major automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto, which has strengthened its hold in the Indian automobile market, has released the sales figures for August 2026. The last month was very good for the company in terms of business. During the last 31 days, the company has registered total sales of 5,35,764 vehicles. If we compare it with last year i.e. August 2025, then this figure was at 4,17,616 units. In this way the company has achieved a strong growth of about 28 percent on an annual basis. Domestic demand as well as the tremendous response from foreign markets have contributed a lot to this overall performance.
30% jump in two-wheeler segment
Bajaj's performance has been most impressive in the two-wheeler segment. In the month of August alone, the company sold 4,43,748 two-wheelers worldwide, which is almost 30 percent more than 3,41,887 vehicles sold in the same period last year. Customer confidence remained intact in the Indian market too, where domestic two-wheeler sales increased from 1,84,109 units to 2,01,898 units. An increase of about 10 percent has been seen in this. However, the biggest surprise came from the international markets, where huge demand for the company's motorcycles was recorded.
The magic of 'Made in India' shines in foreign markets
Bajaj's export figures have become quite strong due to the increasing demand for Indian vehicles in foreign markets. In August 2026, the company exported 2,41,650 two-wheelers, whereas in August last year this number was 1,57,778. In this way, there was a big jump of 53 percent in two-wheeler exports, which means the company supplied more than 84 thousand additional vehicles abroad. If we look at the figures, about 54.5 percent of Bajaj's total two-wheeler sales are now coming directly through exports, which shows how much Made-in-India vehicles are gaining popularity in the global market.
Commercial vehicles also have a strong position
Bajaj has maintained its lead not only in two-wheelers but also in the commercial vehicle segment (three-wheelers and other commercial vehicles). In the month of August, the company sold a total of 92,016 commercial vehicles, which is about 22 percent more than last year's 75,729 units. Out of this, 53,810 commercial vehicles were sold in the Indian market, registering a growth of 11 percent. Apart from this, export of commercial vehicles also increased by 39 percent to 38,206 units.
If we look at the overall situation combining both domestic and international fronts, Bajaj sold a total of 2,55,708 vehicles within India in August 2026, which shows a growth of 10 percent. At the same time, total exports were recorded at 2,80,056 units with a jump of 51 percent. This means that Bajaj is currently sending more vehicles abroad than what it is selling in India. In the first five months of the current financial year (April to August 2026), the company's total sales have reached 24,48,692 units, out of which 20,55,019 units are from the two-wheeler segment alone.
