PSG are set to welcome Monaco to the Parc des Princes on Friday evening in what will be their first Ligue 1 home match of the season.
Luis Enrique’s men head into the contest looking to recover from an unexpectedly slow start to the defence of their domestic crown. The French champions have lacked their usual cutting edge in attack, drawing 2-2 in successive games against Rennes and Lille. Their domestic frustrations were compounded by a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lens in the Trophée des Champions, increasing the sense of early-season disappointment. The objective tonight is straightforward: secure their first Ligue 1 home win of the campaign.
PSG have a small but significant selection issue to manage. First-choice left-back Nuno Mendes is unavailable as he serves the final match of his suspension. In midfield, João Neves remains a doubt and will face a late fitness test.
There is better news in attack, however, with Ousmane Dembélé back fully available after missing out completely last weekend.
Summer signing Maghnes Akliouche, the highly rated new arrival, is also available and is widely tipped to make his first home appearance at the Parc des Princes against the club he previously played for.
Possible PSG starting XI: Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Digne; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fernandez; Akliouche, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:05pm BST on Friday, 4th September.
Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the PSG vs Monaco clash live on OneFootball, Amazon Prime Video, or on Ligue 1+, the official streaming platform of France’s top flight.
