Before this, the responsibility of publishing Sonia Gandhi's autobiography in India Penguin Random House India Was near. However, an agreement could not be reached between the two parties regarding the manuscript and the publishing agreement was cancelled.
According to the report, Penguin had suggested changes in some parts of the book's manuscript and deletion of some excerpts. Sonia Gandhi was not in favor of making any changes in her life story. He said that the facts to his life and his viewpoint should remain in the book in the same form as he has written.
His deal with Penguin India could not go ahead after no consensus was reached on this issue.
International edition of Sonia Gandhi's book Alfred A. Knopf Is publishing. Knopf is also part of Penguin Random House. In such a situation, an agreement has now been signed with HarperCollins India for the Indian edition.
Congress had accused Penguin of political pressure.
After Penguin Random House India backed out from publishing the book, some Congress leaders had raised the issue of freedom of expression, linking it to political pressure. However, Penguin rejected these allegations.
The publisher had said that it is a normal procedure to check the facts and make editorial suggestions before publishing a book. According to Penguin, it had intended to publish the book, but had to back out due to lack of consensus on suggested changes.

Describing it as a long-awaited political memoir, the publisher said that it will provide an opportunity to see India's journey from a personal perspective with themes like love, identity, duty and belonging.
