A song from this film ‘Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman’ has been making people crazy and people are getting emotional. Sunil Lodhi, who gave voice to this song, cannot see with his eyes. But his melodious and devotional voice has connected the audience emotionally. But the singer sometimes used to roam around in the villages. Then how did success happen suddenly?
Who is Sunil Lodhi?
Sunil Lodhi is a 25-year-old folk and devotional singer hailing from Agra village of Surkhi assembly constituency in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. Blind since birth, Sunil has been brought up in a family that depends on farming and animal husbandry for its livelihood. Sunil Lodhi has been singing bhajans and songs of Bundeli tradition for years. He used to perform in his village and surrounding areas carrying the tambourine with him and entertained the local audience with his distinctive voice.
How has life changed?
Singer Sunil Lodhi’s life changed when a recording of the traditional Hanuman bhajan ‘O More Sankat Ke Kataiya Hanuman’ sung by him was shared online. This bhajan touched the hearts of the listeners. The video went viral and has been viewed more than 29 lakh times so far. Sunil Lodhi’s viral recording reached music producer Pankaj VRK. Impressed by his voice, Pankaj started searching for the singer behind the recording. He tracked down Lodhi and gave him the opportunity to go to Mumbai.

The trip proved to be a turning point for Sunil Lodhi, who had played the tambura at local functions for years. He first traveled to Indore and then left for Mumbai. Lodhi recorded about eight songs at Sai Baba Studio in Mumbai. At that time he did not know that one of the songs would later become a part of a film. One of the songs recorded by Sunil Lodhi, ‘Maine Tere Hi Bharose’ was later included in the film ‘Hanuman Ansh’, which is going viral these days.
