Chhattisgarh :- Swine flu cases are continuously increasing. After 26 new infected people were found in the state on Friday, the total number of patients has increased to 205. Of these, 57 patients are still active, while 44 infected people are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. According to the Health Department, the maximum number of cases in the state have been reported from Raipur district. So far, infection has been confirmed in 89 people here. After this, 26-26 patients were found in Bilaspur and Durg. An increase in swine flu cases is being seen amid the changing weather and continuous rains.
Infection is caused by H1N1 virus
Swine flu is an infection caused by H1N1 virus of the influenza group. The virus can spread to another person through contact with droplets produced by an infected person's cough or sneeze. Its main symptoms include high fever, cold and cough, sore throat and body ache. Usually its symptoms get cured in a few days, but in the elderly and people already suffering from any disease, the effect of infection can last longer.
Highest number of new patients found in Raipur
Raipur remained at the forefront among the 26 new cases found in the state on Friday. 12 new infected people have been found in the district. Apart from this, 6 patients have been reported in Bilaspur, 4 in Durg and 2 in Balod. One new case each has also been confirmed in Janjgir and Mahasamund. At present, the condition of none of the infected people admitted to the hospital is said to be serious. Whereas 13 patients are undergoing treatment in home isolation.
Infection reached these districts also
After Raipur, highest number of cases of swine flu have been reported in Bilaspur and Durg in the state. 11 patients have been found in Korba, 10 in Raigarh and 9 in Dhamtari. 4 each were found infected in Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon, while 3 each were found infected in Balod, Bastar, Bemetara and Janjgir-Champa.
Apart from this, 2 patients each have been confirmed in Kanker, Surajpur and Surguja and 1 patient each in Balodabazar, Dantewada, Gariaband, Jashpur, Kondagaon, Manendragarh, Mohla-Manpur and Sakti. The health department is continuously monitoring the situation. Amidst the changing weather, people are being advised to take precautions to prevent infection.
