Enzo Maresca has said Enzo Fernandez is prepared to go straight into the squad for Manchester City's Premier League meeting with Coventry.

The Argentina midfielder, along with new wingers Allan Elias and Iliman Ndiaye, completed their moves after City's 4-1 win away at Crystal Palace on Friday night and are all in contention to start the match at the Etihad Stadium.

With the transfer window having shut on Tuesday, the City manager said he is very pleased with the balance and composition of his squad for the season.

Fernandez played only 25 minutes for Chelsea this season before making the move, but Maresca said he is ready to make his debut.

"Enzo is ready, yes," he said in his press conference ahead of Saturday's game against Coventry at 15:00 (UK).

"I know Enzo quite well and I know what he can bring to the team.

"He is a winner, with a winner's mentality and knows how to win. The World Cup, Club World Cup... the main thing is he's a winner."

The Italian was also delighted to see Fernandez join the club after the transfer was completed on deadline day.

"He's a winner," he added. "When you belong to a squad and another winner arrives, they are always happy.

"I can promise you that in the last five days, four or five players came to ask if he was coming or not. It's very important he is with us."

Maresca also provided a squad fitness update, confirming that Matheus Nunes is fit again after missing the trip to Selhurst Park.

However, Jeremy Doku, who has not featured since the Community Shield curtain-raiser, will not be available yet.

"Jeremy is still out," the Italian added. "Matheus is back, and he will be with us tomorrow.

"In terms of Coventry, these are the games we need to pay attention to and be fully focused on, otherwise it can be tricky."
