Milan Futuro began their league campaign on a positive note, with former Ajax player Silvano Vos also finding the net.

Milan Futuro won on their Serie D debut, beating Caldiero Terme 4-3, with Silvano Vos among the goalscorers.

It was an impressive opening. Milan’s second side started their Serie D season with a victory over Caldiero Terme. It was another significant three points, coming only a few days after the excellent win on matchday one of the Premier League International Cup at Goodison Park against Everton. Confidence is running high in coach Navarro’s team, who will also be encouraged by the way they reacted after going into half-time behind.

The goalscorers

There was no shortage of goals or entertainment at the Felice Chinetti, where goalkeeper Pittarella also had a major say in the contest by saving a penalty given to Caldiero Terme. Ossola, who had already caught the eye during pre-season under Amorim, scored on his debut, and the same was true of Borsani, Vos and Plazzotta. All four goalscorers had drawn interest from Serie B clubs and had been available on the market, but they ultimately remained with AC Milan to add strength to the Under-23 project.

The return of Mr 5 million

In the summer of 2024, Moncada made a decisive move for Silvano Vos, paying as much as 5 million (2.5 million fixed plus another 2.5 million in bonuses) to take him away from Ajax. Injuries and personal issues have made the last two seasons extremely tough for the Dutch midfielder, who has often been away from football. He spent seven months in Amsterdam recovering before returning to Milan in the Primavera last spring, and now a fresh opportunity has come his way. The midfielder, born in 2005, is clearly a level above Serie D, and this goal could represent a new beginning for him.
