Bruno Fernandes may be one of Manchester United's most reliable goalscorers, but the midfielder also has to deal with his share of frustration.

Manchester United were in action against Everton in the Premier League, and the best opening of the first half for either team fell to the United captain.

The ball dropped kindly for him inside the box and he struck it brilliantly on the volley, in what would have been a well-earned opening goal.

But to his disappointment, the effort only crashed against the woodwork after hitting the crossbar.

That latest miss means no player has struck the woodwork more often in the Premier League since the start of last season than Fernandes, who has now done so six times.

Manchester City star Erling Haaland is also level on six, with that figure coming from 140 shots that have hit either the post or the crossbar.

Enzo Fernández and Leandro Trossard, now with Beşiktaş, are next on the list with five each.
