According to a tweet by Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar: "On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Karnataka government has taken a significant decision to honor the invaluable contribution of teachers. All teachers in Karnataka can now proudly use the respectful title 'Tr.' (Teacher) before their names.

This title embodies a teacher's spirit of lifelong, selfless service. 'Tr.' is not merely a title; it reflects society's gratitude toward those selfless individuals who have dedicated their lives to shaping the lives of others.
