Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season produced goals, drama and a number of outstanding individual displays.

Schalke 04 produced a sensational performance to hold Bayern Munich to a 0-0 draw, with Karius playing a decisive part. The experienced goalkeeper made a series of excellent saves to deny Bayern and help Schalke earn a hard-fought point.

Josha Vagnoman, Stuttgart

A lively force down the right flank, Vagnoman scored a superb goal for the second week running. He also played an important part in Stuttgart's opening goal, setting up Bilal El Khannouss before the attacking midfielder went on a mazy run and finished it off.

Hasan Kurucay, Schalke 04

Another standout in Schalke's battling draw with Bayern, Kurucay won four of his six ground duels, cleared one effort off the line and registered five clearances.

Medina made a strong impression on his first start for Leverkusen, blending an aggressive approach with composure and quality in possession. He crowned his display with a goal and completed an excellent 96 percent of his passes.

Another major contributor to Leverkusen's emphatic victory, Fernandez scored a rare goal, completed 96 percent of his passes and won 80 percent of his ground duels.

Leverkusen's attacking magician turned in a dazzling performance, scoring a brilliant goal, creating three key chances for his team-mates and completing an impressive six dribbles.

The Sweden international did all he could to put Gladbach in charge, scoring twice in the first half against Elversberg, but the newly promoted side fought back to win 4-3.
