The 58-year-old took home honours for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire that evening. The event’s second night belonged largely to Apple TV+’s hit series Widow’s Bay. That horror-comedy dominated with eight total wins across various categories. Betty Gilpin also won for her guest role in a comedy series.

Kimmel took to Instagram Sunday to express genuine excitement over his win. He thanked several collaborators, including the Television Academy and his production team. His message named specific colleagues from Sony Pictures Television and ABC directly. Kimmel also praised broadcaster partners who helped bring the show to life.

He affectionately called Molly his “best dressed wife” in the heartfelt post. Kimmel also gave a nod to longtime game show legend Regis Philbin. New episodes of the revived quiz show return this October. Fans can catch the premiere on October 7th at 9 PM.

Kimmel has hosted the classic game show since April 2020. That run continued despite facing a major controversy just last year. ABC suspended him briefly in September 2025 over on-air remarks. Those comments concerned the shocking assassination of Trump ally Charlie Kirk.

He returned to television just six days after his removal. Despite public backlash, Kimmel has continued thriving professionally since then. His recent Emmy win reflects renewed goodwill from both fans and industry. Kimmel now aims for another major spotlight moment next week.
