Ishan Kishan has scored a double century in the Duleep Trophy final. East Zone captain Ishaan completed a double century in 270 balls, taking full notice of the South Zone bowlers. This is Ishaan's first double century in Duleep Trophy. So far he has hit 25 fours and 2 sixes. Thanks to his captaincy innings, the East Zone team is moving towards the score of 600.
Ishaan did not spare South Zone even on the second day
Left-handed batsman Ishan was unbeaten on 111 runs at stumps on the first day. Today (September 7) he took his innings forward and along with Kumar Kushagra put East Zone in a strong position. After the dismissal of Kushagra (111), Ishaan along with Anukul Roy took charge and completed his double century while batting in excellent style.
South zone bowler Halkan
The South Zone team, captained by Tilak Verma, was able to take only 4 wickets on the first day. So far in the second day's play, South Zone bowlers have got only the wicket of Kushagra. Star fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has bowled 21 overs and has no wicket to his name. Shreyas Gopal, who is playing his 100th first class match, is also empty handed.
Only T Vijay and Chama Milind have been successful from South Zone. Both these bowlers have taken 2-2 wickets. All the other bowlers have not looked effective. Ishaan and Anukul are hitting boundaries whenever they want. Now it remains to be seen on what score the East Zone team declares its innings.
