Milan and Juventus could be on a collision course in the January transfer window, with both Serie A heavyweights reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund defender Daniel Svensson.

As per German outlet Fussballdaten.de, relayed by CalcioMercato.it, the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri are prepared to rival Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United for the Sweden full-back.

Svensson mainly plays at left-back, but he can also feature in central defence, which makes the 24-year-old an appealing option for clubs aiming to add more versatility to their squads.

The Stockholm-born defender is said to be valued by Dortmund at between €35 million and €45m, meaning any club keen on signing him would have to make a major financial commitment.

Neither Juventus nor Milan fully solved their respective squad issues during the summer transfer window, and both clubs could therefore re-enter the market in January.

Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti and Milan manager Ruben Amorim may, as a result, ask their respective directors to reinforce their squads in the middle of the season.

Svensson has already been linked with a move to Italian football in the past, and the latest reports indicate that the interest could now develop into a four-club race for his signature, with Arsenal and Manchester United also keeping tabs on the Dortmund player.
