Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, alleging that corruption, inflation and unemployment are at their peak in the state and the government is trying to create a communal atmosphere to divert attention from public problems.

He said that the BJP government is not working in accordance with the spirit of the law and the Constitution and the public will answer for this in the upcoming assembly elections.

During the press conference at SP headquarters, Akhilesh claimed that the expressways built under the BJP government are surrounded by allegations of corruption.

Referring to the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, he said that there have been complaints of broken roads and potholes at many places. He alleged that the agency which built the road was given work and benefits again. However, these allegations have not been independently confirmed.

Akhilesh said that the government's resources are being used to prepare AI based videos against him. He said that AI should be used in the fields of medicine, agriculture and public interest instead of negative politics. According to him, through technology, farmers can get earlier information about weather and crop diseases and timely treatment can be provided to the poor.

Raising the issue of demolition of the mosque in the Saharanpur Collectorate complex, the SP chief accused the BJP government of taking the state on the 'communal path'. He questioned why the mosque was demolished when a solution was possible through the courts.

Akhilesh Yadav said that SP will work to strengthen respect and brotherhood of all religions. When SP MPs and MLAs going to Saharanpur were stopped, he raised questions on the police action and said that the police should take action against the criminals, but the political leaders are being surrounded.

Regarding PDA, Akhilesh said that it is an alliance of 'oppressed, unhappy and humiliated' people and BJP is scared of its unity.

He claimed that PDA is going to form the government in the upcoming assembly elections. In the conference of Kushwaha, Shakya, Maurya and Saini communities, he reiterated the demand for caste census, calling social justice the main issue of SP's politics. He said that people should get rights and respect in proportion to the population.

Akhilesh announced that if the SP government is formed, the birth anniversary of Emperor Ashoka will be declared a public holiday and a statue and memorial of Babu Jagdev Prasad Kushwaha will be built on the Gomti River Front of Lucknow.

He said that it is necessary to strengthen the PDA for social justice, protection of the Constitution and respect for all sections.
