But if the infection spreads to the uterus and surrounding organs, problems like stomach ache, abnormal discharge and changes in periods may occur. It is not right to ignore such signs for a long time.

1. Persistent pain in the lower abdomen

If there is an infection in the uterus or pelvic area, pain or heaviness may be felt in the lower abdomen. The pain may be mild or may increase with time. If the pain is recurring or persists for a long time, it is important to get checked.

2. Abnormal vaginal discharge

Discharge that is different than normal from the vagina may be a sign of infection. Changes in the amount, color, or odor of the discharge, especially if it has a strong or unusual odor, should not be ignored.

3. Changes in periods or bleeding in between.

In case of infection, some women may have more painful or heavier periods than normal. Bleeding can also occur between periods or after sex.

4.Fever and burning sensation while urinating

As the infection progresses, problems like fever, weakness or feeling unwell may occur. Burning sensation or pain while urinating is also seen in some women. However, these symptoms can also occur in other health problems.

If problems like severe pain in the lower abdomen, abnormal discharge, bleeding between periods or fever persist, then a gynecologist should be examined. It is important to seek immediate medical help in case of severe or increasing pelvic pain, excessive bleeding, dizziness or high fever.
