In reply, Hong Kong was all out for 71 runs in 19 overs.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bat. The team lost wickets early, but Shawal Zulfiqar played a crucial innings of 47 runs off 35 balls, hitting seven fours. Ayesha Zafar scored 26 runs off 19 balls, while Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 24.

Joylene Kaur was the most successful bowler for Hong Kong, taking four wickets for 19 runs in her four overs. Despite this, Pakistan managed to post a challenging total of 143.

Nashra Sandhu took 6 wickets for 7 runs.

Defending a total of 143, Pakistan’s bowling did not give Hong Kong any chance. Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu took 6 wickets for just 7 runs in four overs. This was her first six-wicket haul in T20Is and also became the best bowling performance by a Pakistani woman cricketer in T20Is.

Hong Kong’s batting collapsed before Sandhu, collapsing for 71. Pakistan won the match by 72 runs and advanced to the semi-finals, finishing second in Group A with four points.

Hopes rise for India-Pakistan final

India has already reached the semi-finals. Pakistan’s victory now makes a final between India and Pakistan a possibility. However, both teams must first win their respective semi-final matches.

Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in the second semi-final on September 11. Sri Lanka advanced from Group B and this match will not be easy for Pakistan.

Just before this match, Pakistan had suffered a major defeat against India. India had bowled Pakistan out for just 55 runs. This was the lowest total by a Pakistan women’s team in T20I history. India achieved the target in 8.4 overs for the loss of three wickets.

The victory against Hong Kong has given Pakistan a chance to recover from that setback. Now, they will be looking to defeat Sri Lanka and reach the final. If both India and Pakistan win the semi-finals, the final on September 13th could see another India-Pakistan match.
