A major accident occurred when a heavy crane suddenly fell on a building under construction in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Wednesday evening. After this accident in Kudasan area, there was an outcry on the spot. It is feared that 10 to 15 laborers are buried under the debris of the crane. As soon as information about the accident was received, police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and started the rescue operation on war footing.
The accident was so severe that as soon as the crane fell, a part of the construction site collapsed and many workers got trapped under the debris. It is a matter of relief that till now four laborers have been taken out safely, while the work of removing debris is going on continuously to search for the remaining people. Ambulances have also been deployed on the spot to immediately take the injured to the hospital.
Crane collapses, workers trapped under debris
According to the information, work was going on on a building under construction in Kudasan. Meanwhile, the heavy crane suddenly fell. A part of the structure under construction also came down after being hit by the crane. Within no time, a pile of debris formed at the incident site and many workers got trapped under it.
Four laborers pulled out, rescue underway
As soon as information about the accident was received, the local police team and four fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. According to fire officials, about 10 to 15 workers are feared trapped. The rescue team is carefully removing the debris and trying to reach the people trapped inside.
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi reached the spot
Seeing the seriousness of the accident, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Shanghvi also reached the spot and took stock of the relief work. Along with taking information about the entire incident from the officials, he also saw the status of the rescue operation.
Ambulance deployed, struggle to save every life
An ambulance has been deployed at the spot so that any laborer can get immediate treatment after being pulled out from the debris. Fire department and police teams are continuously engaged in the operation. At present, the priority of the administration is to safely rescue all the laborers trapped under the debris as soon as possible.
