Cupertino/New Delhi. Apple introduced a new series of iPhones on Wednesday. The company's new CEO John Ternes, who took over as CEO from Tim Cook on September 1, started the program. Ternus said that improvements have been made to the battery, camera and phone performance in the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. In the new iPhone, Apple has also emphasized the new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of Siri and given priority to privacy and security.
According to a statement issued by the company, Apple on Wednesday introduced its first foldable smartphone 'iPhone Duo'. This is the company's most expensive mobile phone so far, which will be available in India from October 23 at a starting price of Rs 2.99 lakh.
Competitors like Samsung, Motorola and Google have already launched foldable smartphones. According to analyst Dipanjan Chatterjee, Apple generally does not rush into new technology and enters it after the market potential is clear.
The new iPhones are likely to cost more than the previous series due to the global memory chip shortage. The iPhone 17 introduced last year also included a new ultra-thin 'Air' model, which has sold well. According to a statement, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be available in India from September 18 at a starting price of Rs 1,64,900 and Rs 1,79,900.
