The NPCI has launched a new feature called 'eNACHLite' at the 'Global Fintech Fest 2026' held in Mumbai. This will make routine bank-linked payments much easier for the general public. Read the full story.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched eNACHLite at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, effectively eliminating the hassle of payment failures. It will also make setting up auto-debit mandates—such as for loan EMIs, insurance premiums, and SIPs—extremely simple.
Previously, users were redirected to a browser during the payment process, where payments often failed; now, however, the entire task can be completed within the app itself in just a few seconds. Hyderabad-based NPCI-certified technology service provider 'Viona Fintech' has fully developed and tested the system and is ready to immediately onboard banks and lenders to this new facility.
What were the issues before?
Whenever a customer set up auto-debit for loan EMIs, insurance installments, or mutual funds, the app would often redirect them to an external web browser page. The process would frequently remain incomplete due to slow page loading, crashes, or technical glitches. This caused frustration for customers and led to a flood of complaints at bank call centers.
What will change with eNACHLite?
The NPCI has completely eliminated the need to visit external web pages. Everything can now be handled within a single app; users will no longer need to leave the app. Setting up, modifying, pausing, or cancelling mandates can all be done easily within the app itself.
Customers will view the details on the app screen, verify their identity using their card or Aadhaar, enter the OTP received on their mobile, and the process will be completed in just a few seconds. Crucially, if a transaction fails for any reason, the system will clearly state the cause and pinpoint exactly where the issue occurred.
How will banks benefit?
With technical hurdles removed, a greater number of customers will be able to successfully complete their payment processes. This will lead to a significant reduction in complaints received by call centers, and customer care teams will be able to provide immediate assistance by identifying the precise reason for the payment failure. Moreover, banks will not need to develop a new app for this purpose; NPCI-certified companies like 'Viona Fintech' will handle the technical infrastructure and security management. Notably, sensitive details regarding the customer's card and identity will reside directly within NPCI's secure systems, thereby eliminating the risk of data leaks.
