Launched by UIDAI, this tool will enable banks, fintech companies and other companies in the financial sector to perform face authentication of customers directly from their servers. This will make the verification process easy and simple. The Aadhaar Face Authentication Software Development Kit (SDK) and Sandbox have been launched at the Global FinTech Fest 2026.

This enables ecosystem partners i.e. banks, fintech companies and other financial sector companies to easily integrate, test and deploy Aadhaar face authentication in their digital applications.

What are the features of UIDAI's new tools?

Aadhaar Face Authentication SDK brings UIDAI's face authentication capabilities directly into native Android and iOS apps. This eliminates the need for users to switch between different apps, making the process very easy, simple, and offers a single-app authentication experience. According to PIB, this ready-to-use SDK simplifies integration for ecosystem partners and also features AI/ML-based liveness and anti-spoofing capabilities. This makes the process easier for you.

This system handles authentication data securely and also supports encryption. It is specially designed to handle all types of smartphones. This SDK is expected to help government departments, banks, fintech companies and other organizations to more effectively implement services that require face authentication.

Sandbox also launched

Along with the SDK, UIDAI has also launched the Aadhaar Face Authentication Sandbox. It is a secure and controlled system that allows organizations to integrate, verify and validate the entire face authentication process before it is put into actual use.

This sandbox allows developers and quality assurance teams to test key levels such as user provisioning and consent, face capture, liveness checks, authentication, error handling and response validation, without requiring external biometric hardware. Also, it allows testing failure scenarios such as invalid digital signatures, network interruptions, timeouts, and spoofing attempts.
