New Delhi .Controversy has increased regarding the ancestral house of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj located in Akbarpur village of Firozabad. His six granddaughters have filed a complaint before the district administration, accusing a trust of illegal occupation of ancestral property. Taking the matter seriously, the District Administration has constituted a three-member committee to investigate.

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma has formed a committee under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Judicial Arvind Kumar Dwivedi. Tundla Subdistrict Magistrate Divya Singh and District Tourism Officer Vishal Srivastava have also been included in this. The committee has to investigate the property concerned and the allegations made.

The dispute is to house number 154 located in Akbarpur village and the structures built around it. This place is said to be the birthplace of Baba Neem Karauli Maharaj. The former name of the saint was Lakshmi Narayan Sharma. Presently this place is being developed as a tourist attraction by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department.

The ancestral complex includes the saint's meditation chamber, dining area, guest quarters and bedrooms. This house is a duplex and is built on a plot of land with an area of ​​about 4000 square feet.

According to family sources, the dispute came to light after a family function on August 24. It is alleged that the six daughters of the saint's late son Dharam Narayan Sharma were not allowed to stay in the rooms of the house. After this he presented his complaint before the district administration.

Six granddaughters Sunita Sharma, Archana Sharma, Vandana Sharma, Bhavana Rawat, Ritu Tiwari and Richa Rawat submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate. In this he demanded to free the ancestral residence from the control of the Trust. Bhavana Rawat's husband Manoj Rawat said that the documents to the property have been handed over to the investigation committee.

Presently the chairperson of Shri Neem Karoli Maharaj Trust is the saint's daughter Girija Devi Bhatele. His late wife Rambeti had previously been the chairperson of the trust. In the complaint of the granddaughters, questions have been raised regarding the control of the trust.

However, Dhananjay Sharma from the other side of the family has distanced himself from these allegations. He is the son of Anek Singh Sharma, the second son of the late saint. He says that the property was handed over to the trust as per the wish of Baba Neem Karauli. He expressed concern over the ongoing public dispute in the family and appealed to resolve the matter amicably.

At the same time, Trust Secretary Sanjay Gupta has denied any kind of illegal occupation or dispute within the Trust. He says that he was appointed by Dharam Narayan Sharma and he will continue to serve the organization. He also said that he has not yet received any official information from the district administration.

This controversy regarding the ancestral house of Baba Neem Karauli Maharaj has come to light at a time when the film 'Hanuman Ansh' based on his life is in the news after the release. The film was released on 7 August 2026 and has grossed over Rs 150 crore worldwide within a month.
