Yash Thakur replaces Harshit Rana: The fast bowler of the Indian team has been ruled out of the T20 series against Afghanistan starting from September 13. He will not be seen playing in the Asian Games either. Now BCCI has announced his replacement. The board has included Yash Thakur in Team India’s squad in place of Harshit Rana. He will be seen playing for India in the T20 series against Afghanistan and the Asian Games. BCCI said on Thursday (September 10) that the selection committee has selected Yash Thakur in place of Harshit Rana in the Indian team for the 3-match T20 International series against Afghanistan and the 2026 Asian Games. Why was Harshit Rana not fit? BCCI said that Harshit Rana is rehabbing at the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. On September 7, he suffered a strain in his rectus femoris muscle while bowling during a match simulation. Because of this he has been dropped from the team. Harshit Rana was injured during the 5-match T20 series against England. After this, he was out of the England tour and reached BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru for recovery. He was selected in the squad for the T20 series against Afghanistan, but he was not fully fit.

In such a situation, Yash Thakur has been given a chance in his place. Who is Yash Thakur? Yash Thakur is a 27 year old fast bowler from Vidarbha. He made his T20 International debut for India on the Zimbabwe tour in July. Yash played 2 matches on that tour, in which he took 4 wickets at an economy of 9.37. He has played 50 matches so far in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, in which he has taken 81 wickets at an economy of 7.04. Seeing his performance, the selectors have given him a chance in Team India.
