iPhone price hike: Recently, tech company Apple has launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. These phones have been officially launched. Many users felt that Apple would expand the portfolio of its series and also cut the price of its previous series. But this did not happen. This time again Apple has taken a huge leap in terms of price. There has been no reduction in the prices of iPhone 17, iPhone 16 etc., rather, there has been a slight increase in the prices.
Now the question arises that despite iPhone being made in India, why do the prices remain so high? This question comes to the mind of almost every iPhone buyer and non-buyer. Let us know why this happens.

Why may the price of iPhone increase?

The reason behind increasing the price of iPhone could also be that till now the retailers were getting Demand Generation Support i.e. DG support from Apple, which was like a backend incentive but now it is being discontinued. It is believed that due to this the prices of iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 may increase. Earlier, customers were given cashback of up to Rs 6000 on iPhone. Now it has come down to around Rs 1000.

Why do iPhone prices increase in India?

According to media reports and tech experts, the price of iPhone increases in India because most of the work to make iPhone in India is done through assembly. The iPhone is not made entirely in India. Expensive parts like camera sensor, processor, display as well as memory still come from Taiwan, South Korea, China or Japan etc. Import duty is applicable on these parts. After this, 18 percent GST is also imposed on the entire phone. Due to all the taxes and duties its final price increases significantly. It is believed that due to this, instead of reducing the prices of iPhone in India, the prices often increase.
