Automobile Desk: The famous German luxury car manufacturing company Mercedes-Benz is preparing to strengthen its electric portfolio in the Indian automobile market. In this series, the company is going to launch the electric version of its popular luxury SUV Mercedes-Benz GLC EV in the Indian market. In view of the increasing demand for premium electric vehicles, the company is planning to introduce this model in India. Although, its official launch date has not been announced yet by Mercedes, but it is believed that it can be seen on the roads by the end of this year.
The biggest question among car enthusiasts is regarding its booking. According to reports to the auto sector, the company can officially start accepting bookings for this electric SUV from next month. Even before the launch, curiosity about this vehicle is being seen at the dealership level and among the customers.

If we talk about its features, Mercedes-Benz is going to provide an unmatched combination of cutting-edge technology and luxury in its new EV. Signature LED headlights, sporty LED DRL and attractive tail light setup will be seen in it. The cabin of the car has been made very premium, where features like 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, sunroof and key-less entry will be available. Apart from this, massage seats, satellite navigation, digital instrument cluster and Mercedes' latest MBUX infotainment system will be provided for the comfort of passengers. Burmester's premium sound system will be available for music lovers. In terms of safety, modern features like ABS, EBD, brake assist, automatic emergency braking (AEB) and over-the-air (OTA) software updates will be included in it.
In terms of performance, this electric SUV will prove to be very powerful. The company can provide a big battery pack with 94 kWh capacity in it. Thanks to this powerful battery, this vehicle will be able to give an excellent driving range of about 715 kilometers once fully charged. Keeping in mind long distance travel, this range is considered much better. The electric motor provided with it will have the power to generate maximum power of 489 horse power and torque of 800 Newton meters. All-wheel drive (AWD) technology can also be provided in it for better grip and great driving experience on all types of roads.
Talking about price and competition, Mercedes can offer this premium electric SUV in the Indian market at a starting price of around Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the actual price will be revealed only at the time of launch. After entering the Indian luxury EV segment, this vehicle will face direct competition with established premium electric vehicles like BMW iX3.
