Release of Priyadarshan's new film 'Haivaan'
The much awaited film 'Haivaan' directed by Priyadarshan has been released in theaters today, 11th September. Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar are in the lead roles in this film, which is full of suspense, thriller and action. Saif has played the role of a blind man 'Shyam Rane', while Akshay Kumar has played the role of the dreaded villain 'Parshuram'. The film has many interesting twists, but its biggest surprise comes after the climax, which the fans of South Indian superstar Mohanlal were eagerly waiting for.
Importance of Mohanlal's entry
At the end of the film Mohanlal suddenly appears, complete with dark glasses and a walking stick. His entry is special because blindness plays an important role in the story of the film. This raises questions in the minds of the audience as to which character they are playing in the film.
Unique twist of climax
In the final scene of the film, Mohanlal is also seen as a blind man. After the climax, they stand on the roadside with Saif and a little girl. The girl asks them, “Can't you see too?”
End of 'Haivaan' and Mohanlal's character
In this scene, Mohanlal takes off the glasses and asks who else can't see. Saif Ali Khan replies that even he cannot see. Meanwhile, the traffic signal changes and the girl holds the stick of the two blind characters and helps them cross the road. This small scene becomes a special moment for Saif and Mohanlal's characters.
Mohanlal's cameo and 'Oppam' connection
Mohanlal's appearance is linked to the Malayalam film 'Oppam', in which he played the lead role. Priyadarshan directed 'Oppam' in 2016. Saif's character in 'Haivaan' is the Hindi adaptation of the same role from the original film. However, instead of giving Mohanlal the lead role, Priyadarshan has included him in a special cameo.
Priyadarshan's way of convincing Mohanlal
Priyadarshan had already hinted at Mohanlal's cameo. In an interview, he told that when he asked Mohanlal if he would do this role, he was initially not ready. But when he heard the whole story, he immediately agreed.
Mohanlal's cameo: a special moment
Mohanlal's presence in 'Haivaan' is not only a surprise for fans, but it also creates an interesting connection between the film and its Malayalam original. Seeing Mohanlal and Saif together after the climax feels like a 'handing over of responsibility' moment for the fans.
