Uttarakhand News: On Monday, a 13-member media delegation from Uttarakhand reached Chhattisgarh for the five-day Chhattisgarh Press Tour organized by PIB Dehradun under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The five-day National Study and Media Exposure Tour (Study Tour) organized by PIB Dehradun for the journalists of Uttarakhand with the aim of giving them a first-hand view of the public welfare schemes, scientific research, technological progress and innovations of the Central Government, reached Raipur from Jollygrant Airport, Dehradun on Monday.

This press tour has been organized by PIB Dehradun with the aim of physically showing the important projects and development works of the Central Government. In this tour program, journalists from various media organizations have been taken to Chhattisgarh, where they will directly observe the major people-oriented achievements of the Central Government and come face to face with the ground reality. This press tour is part of the tradition of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in which special efforts are made to convey government policies, programs and development activities to the general public through the media.

What is the main purpose of the journey? During this study tour, the delegation will visit major national institutes, research centers and important projects to infrastructure development located in Chhattisgarh. The main objective of the yatra is to make the media persons of Uttarakhand aware of the development work happening at the national level, research, scientific innovations and the revolution in the field of digital governance, so that the correct information about these achievements to public interest can be conveyed to the general public. PIB organizes such press tours at selected project sites so that journalists can get a first-hand account of the ongoing development activities in the country and assess their utility to the larger public interest and national interest. During this, the media delegation will visit SECL Bilaspur, NTPC and BALCO Korba, 40 KW Solar Project, Tribal Museum, Sirpur and will pay a courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh along with self-help groups.

What did Conducting Officer Sanjeev Sundriyal tell? Sanjeev Sundriyal, Conducting Officer of Chhattisgarh Press Tour organized by PIB Dehradun, said – “This press tour is an important medium to connect the journalists of Uttarakhand with the development projects of the Central Government. This will give the journalists of the state in-depth, accurate and clear information about the achievements of the Central Government in Chhattisgarh.” Sundriyal said that the objective of this press tour is to enable journalists to get direct experience of various projects, institutions and activities of national importance at the ground level.

He said that the primary objective of the National Press Tour is to build a strong bridge between the regional media and the national level developmental priorities. This study tour will give the journalists of Uttarakhand an opportunity to closely see and understand the progress of the country’s state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. He said that it is our endeavor that through this exposure tour, the media representatives can provide accurate and authentic information to the readers by deeply analyzing the changes and innovations happening at the ground level. From time to time, such press tours are being organized by PIB Dehradun under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and earlier also PIB Dehradun has organized press tours to Hyderabad, Orissa, Visakhapatnam.
