Inflation is rising so rapidly that even shopping for festivals has become difficult. Meanwhile, the wedding season is approaching, and everyone is keeping a close watch on gold and silver prices. Just a few days ago, the rates for both metals had surged significantly. However, there is some relief today—September 15—as prices have dropped. While gold prices have fallen, silver remains stable, trading at yesterday's rates. You can check the latest rates for gold and silver here.

How much has gold dropped in price?

Today, the price of gold in the bullion market has fallen by ₹500, settling at ₹1,55,400 per 10 grams. This decline is attributed to a sell-off in global markets amidst rising crude oil prices and a strengthening dollar. Yesterday (September 14), gold with 99.9% purity had closed at ₹1,55,900 per 10 grams.

Has silver become more expensive or cheaper?

Looking at silver prices, the metal appears stable across the country today at ₹2,34,600 per kilogram. There has been no change in silver prices today. This comes as a relief to the general public, as many people purchase silver coins, jewelry, and utensils for the upcoming Diwali festival.

What is the situation at the international level?

Globally, spot gold fell by $57.22 (1.3%) to $4,291.71 per ounce, while the price of silver dropped by approximately three percent to $62.82. In fact, high crude oil prices have heightened concerns about inflation, thereby putting further pressure on the demand for gold and silver.
