India Optel Limited (IOL) has invited applications for the posts of Junior Project Engineer and Project Technician. This recruitment will be conducted on a Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) basis. The company has issued two separate advertisements regarding this recruitment. Interested and eligible candidates may apply following the prescribed procedure.
What are the qualifications for Junior Project Engineer?
Chemistry: A B.Sc. degree in Chemistry is required. A minimum of 60% marks is mandatory. Candidates must also possess 5 years of experience in the relevant field after obtaining the degree.
Electrical: A 3-year diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or Plant Maintenance Engineering is required. A minimum of 60% marks and 5 years of post-diploma experience are mandatory.
Electronics: A 3-year diploma in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation is required. 60% marks and 5 years of relevant experience are mandatory.
Mechanical: A 3-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechatronics is required. A minimum of 60% marks and 5 years of post-diploma experience are mandatory.
Optics and Coating: A B.Sc. degree with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects is required. A minimum of 60% marks and 5 years of relevant post-degree experience are mandatory.
Tenure of Appointment
Initially, the appointment will be for a maximum of 2 years. Subject to satisfactory work and performance, the tenure may be extended by up to one year at a time. The total contract period can extend up to a maximum of 5 years. IOL reserves the right to terminate the appointment before the completion of the contract period in the event of unsatisfactory performance or any form of misconduct.
Selection Process for Junior Project Engineer
Applications will be screened initially.
Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview.
Candidates up to a maximum of twice the number of vacancies will be called for the interview, based on the marks obtained in the diploma or B.Sc. degree. For the final selection, 75% weightage will be given to Diploma/B.Sc. marks, and 25% to the interview.
Candidates' documents will be verified prior to the interview. Candidature may be cancelled if any deficiencies are found in the documents.
In the event of a tie in marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If a tie persists, the decision will be based on the alphabetical order of the candidates' names.
The interview will not be conducted online or virtually, and requests to change the interview date, time, or venue will not be entertained.
How will the selection for Project Technician be conducted?
Candidates will be shortlisted for the trade test based on the marks obtained in the final NTC/NAC examination.
If both NTC and NAC examinations have been taken, the marks obtained in the NTC examination will be considered.
Candidates up to a maximum of twice the number of vacancies will be called for the trade test.
The trade test will be a practical test designed solely to assess the candidate's competence.
Qualifying the trade test is mandatory; candidates who fail to do so will not be eligible for selection.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the final NTC/NAC examination.
