Akanksha Chamola has unfollowed estranged husband Gaurav Khanna on Instagram, the latest development in their ongoing separation, coming shortly after she denied reports of demanding ₹10 crore in alimony.
While the 35-year-old has removed photos and reels featuring Khanna from her profile, he still follows her and has kept their pictures up on his own account.
Weeks earlier, the television actress had also reached out to Meta India and Instagram to change her username, which remains tied to Khanna, it currently reads “akankshagkhanna.”
Addressing the alimony rumours in an interview with Mashable Indiathe How did you meet me? The actor said, “If I had a manga and if I got the money, I would sit here. If I really didn't have this much money, then when would I have stolen this country and gone away.”
She added that if she really had that kind of money, she’d rather spend it travelling.
Akanksha and Gaurav married in November 2016. She first spoke publicly about their separation on Cover Up 2saying, “Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year and it’s not been public… We don’t think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it’s not with each other.”
The 44-year-old actor later appeared as a guest on the show, saying her announcement had shocked both families and left him dealing with the fallout on both sides.
Their split has also been linked to differing views on starting a family, Chamola had said she did not feel a maternal instinct, while Khanna had different expectations around having children. She also revealed she is bisexual, something Khanna was aware of.
