Abhishek needed only 5 runs to achieve this feat. He achieved this feat by hitting a six on the last ball of the first over of the innings against Fazalhaq Farooqui. He completed 6000 T20 runs in 3420 balls.
Overall, the record for completing the fastest 6000 T20 runs is in the name of New Zealand’s Finn Allen. Allen achieved this feat in 3386 balls. That means Abhishek Sharma was only 34 balls behind this record. West Indies legend Andre Russell is at third place in this list with 3550 balls, while Tim David completed 6000 runs in 3681 balls.

Abhishek Sharma made his IPL (Indian Premier League) debut for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the year 2018. In the debut match itself, he played a stormy inning of 46 unbeaten runs in just 19 balls. However, he did not get many opportunities in the initial years. He played three IPL matches each in 2018 and 2019. After this, in 2020 and 2021 he participated in eight matches each.
Then in IPL 2024, Abhishek Sharma caught everyone’s attention with his explosive batting. He scored 484 runs that season and on the basis of this performance, made a place in the Indian team for the first time. He made his T20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe in 2024.
