Defending champions Inter Milan made a spectacular comeback from two goals down to beat Udinese 5-3 on Monday to maintain their 100 per cent record in Serie A. With this win, Inter is jointly on top with Roma with 12 points from four matches.
Inter had a very bad start. James Abankwah and Jurgen Ekelenkamp scored in the first 16 minutes to give Udinese a 2-0 lead and deal a major blow to Inter.
After this, Carlos Augusto started Inter’s comeback by scoring a brilliant goal from long distance. Nicolo Barella scored 10 minutes before half time to make the score 2-2.
In the second half, Inter completely controlled the match. Marcus Thuram gave the team the lead for the first time by scoring a goal in the 59th minute.
After this, Francesco Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bony scored goals to increase Inter’s lead to 5-2. Idrissa Gueye scored a goal for Udinese in injury time, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
Roma also maintained 100% record
Roma also recorded their fourth consecutive win by defeating Torino 2–0. Donyale Malen and Nicolo Picilli scored for Roma. Malen took advantage of a defensive mistake by goalkeeper Lucas Perry to give the team the lead.
Picilli sealed Roma’s victory by converting Gianluca Mancini’s pass in the closing stages of the match. Roma also have 12 points from four matches. The next clash between Inter and Roma will be at Stadio Olimpico.
Como in third place
In another match, Como defeated Parma 2-1 and secured third place in the points table. Jacobo Ramón and Kiki Bruno scored for Como. The win follows Como’s UEFA Champions League win in midweek.
