Let us know the quick recipe of gram flour-mawa modak which is very easy to make at home.

Material

  • for covering
  • Gram flour-1 cup
  • Ghee-1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar-1/2 cup
  • Milk-2-3 spoons
  • for stuffing
  • Mawa (Khoya)-1/2 cup
  • Finely chopped cashew-almonds-2 spoons
  • Pistachios-1 spoon
  • Cardamom powder- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Poppy seeds – 1 teaspoon

Method

1-First of all, fry the mawa in a pan on low flame until it turns light pink. Add chopped nuts, poppy seeds and cardamom powder to it, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool.
2- Heat ghee in a pan and fry the gram flour on low flame while stirring continuously till it becomes golden and aromatic.
3- After the gram flour is roasted, sprinkle 2 spoons of milk in it (this makes the gram flour grainy). Then turn off the gas, let it cool a bit and mix the powdered sugar well.
4-Apply some ghee in the modak mould. First spread a little mixture of gram flour in the mould, fill the royal stuffing of mawa in the middle and cover it with the gram flour mixture from the bottom and press it gently. In this way your delicious modak is ready.
