WhatsApp said that it has closed a total of 76,28,000 accounts between February 1 and February 29. Of these, 14,24,000 accounts were closed even before any user complained, that is, WhatsApp itself noticed wrong activity in these accounts and took action against them.
More than 16,500 complaints were received
This messaging app, which has more than 50 crore users in India, received a record 16,618 complaints in February. Of these, action was taken only in 22 cases. Taking action means that WhatsApp took action against the account based on the complaint. Such as closing the account or restarting the previously closed account.
