
New Delhi, April 20 (Tezzbuzz Reporter) The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added a net 15.48 lakh members in February. During this period, about 7.78 lakh new members enrolled with EPFO. EPFO, the body that manages the retirement fund, has given this information.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Labor and Employment said that according to the provisional payroll data of EPFO, a net number of 15.48 lakh members have been added in the month of February. For the first time during February 2024, about 7.78 lakh new members have enrolled. According to statistics, most of these members are in the age group of 18 to 25. Their number is 56.36 percent of the total new members added in February 2024. This shows that the majority of individuals joining the organized workforce are youth.
Payroll data shows that around 11.78 lakh members who had exited EPFO schemes have re-joined EPFO. According to the data, these members changed their jobs and rejoined the establishments under the purview of EPFO. According to the ministry, he chose to transfer his funds.
According to the data, out of 7.78 lakh new members joined in EPFO in February, about 2.05 lakh are women members. Apart from this, the number of net female members added during this period was approximately 3.08 lakh. EPFO data shows that the addition of women members is indicative of a broader shift towards a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
