Theft-murder case cracked, two nabbed

The murder case of a man slain by two criminals who stole a Royal Enfield Bullet motorbike at Sidhwan Bet area has allegedly been solved by the rural police of Ludhiana. The cops took the suspects into custody.

They have been identified as Jaspreet Singh (21), who also lives in Mohi village in Sudhar, and Davinder Singh (26), also known as Kaka.

During the evening of July 9,

Two thieves at Sidhwan Bet killed 38-year-old Sukhwinder Singh by stabbing him to death. The victim was pursuing the culprits on a motorbike with his brother’s assistance as they fled on a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle that they had stolen. The miscreants assaulted the victim on the head with sharp weapons as soon as the two got close to them in a desolate spot along the Hambran road.

In a statement, Ludhiana rural SSP Navneet Singh said that inspector Jasvir Singh of Sidhwan Bet SHO had solved the case and taken the two suspects into custody at the request of Jagraon DSP Jasjot Singh. They also showed up with the stolen motorbike. According to the SSP, the miscreants would be placed under police detention so that their involvement in earlier crimes could be confirmed.

In 2020, a charge of abduction and rape was filed against Davinder at the Sudhar, adding to his criminal history.
