The month of August has started with an increase in the prices of LPG gas cylinders. On August 1, 2024, oil marketing companies increased the prices of LPG cylinders, but only for 19 kg commercial cylinders, while there has been no change in the prices of 14 kg domestic cylinders. As of today, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹ 8.50.
Price hike from Delhi to Mumbai
According to the IOCL website, the new prices of commercial gas cylinders will be effective from 6 am on August 1, 2024. The price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from ₹ 1646 to ₹ 1652.50, i.e. there has been an increase of ₹ 6.50 per cylinder. In Kolkata, the price of a 19 kg cylinder has increased by Rs 8.50 and is now Rs 1764.50, while earlier it was available for Rs 1756. In Mumbai, the price has increased by Rs 7 from Rs 1598 to Rs 1605. Similarly, in Chennai, it has increased from Rs 1809.50 to Rs 1817.
Domestic cylinder prices are unchanged
While the prices of commercial cylinders have fluctuated, the prices of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinders have remained stable. There has been no further change since Women's Day when the government provided a significant relief by reducing the price of domestic cylinders by ₹ 100. Currently, the price of a 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder is ₹ 803 in Delhi, ₹ 829 in Kolkata, ₹ 802.50 in Mumbai and ₹ 818.50 in Chennai.
