• Similar to Instagram Stories: WhatsApp users will soon be able to mention contacts in their status updates, much like the mention feature in Instagram Stories.
• Beta Testing: This feature is currently being tested by select users in the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.24.20.3 on Android, as reported by WABetaInfo, a trusted source for WhatsApp updates.

How It Works:

• Mentioning Contacts: When creating a status update, users will see an option to mention friends in the caption bar.
• Choosing Contacts: Tapping the option will display a list of contacts, allowing users to select who they want to mention.
• Display: The mentioned contact's name will appear below the status update.
• Notifications: The person mentioned will receive a notification, just like in Instagram, alerting them to the mention in the status update.
