No sign of respite in the conflict-hit Middle East as the exchange of rockets and missiles continues between Israel and Hezbollah. Amid rising tensions, Israel rejected proposals on Thursday for a ceasefire with Hezbollah, defying allies’ request to avert a wider war. Taking to X, Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that "There will be no ceasefire in the north, and Israel will continue to fight until Hezbollah surrenders”. Israeli citizens further welcomed the statement made by the foreign minister, rejecting the proposal of a ceasefire with Hezbollah. This week, the Israeli military launched its most intense bombings in a year of fighting, focusing on Hezbollah leaders and hideouts. Approximately 600 people were murdered and 1800 were injured in one of the worst wars in Lebanon. The two sides have engaged in cross-border armed conflict for almost a year since the start of the Gaza conflict last October.
