Today the whole country is using UPI. UPI is being used from small shops to big malls. Digital payment is as easy as it is risky. Thousands of smartphones are stolen every day in the country and almost all phones have UPI apps.
If the phone is stolen, there is a fear of misuse of UPI and the account getting emptied. If a person's mobile is stolen or lost, then he can get his UPI ID blocked for security reasons.
For this, one has to call 1800-419-0157 (Google Pay), 08068727374 (Phone Pay) or 01204456456 (Paytm). After this, the customer care officer verifies the information of the concerned person and blocks the UPI ID.
