Eight days after the mysterious disappearance of 57-year-old diamond businessman Rajeshwar Udani in Mumbai, his body was found. Medical examination revealed that his nose bone was broken. This was a murder case in which everything was full of mystery, but finally, the police reached the murderer.
New Delhi: It was 27 November 2018, when diamond businessman Rajeshwar Udani, who lived in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai, was seen for the last time. While returning from office, Rajeshwar got out of his car on the Eastern Express Highway and left in another car. After this, he never returned home. The family searched a lot and when he was not found, a missing report was filed with the police. Slowly eight days passed, but no clue about Rajeshwar was found from anywhere.
The police were still searching for Rajeshwar when his body was found in Panvel on the eighth day, 4 December. The police reached the spot, made a Panchnama, and sent the body for postmortem. The postmortem report revealed that Rajeshwar's nose bone was broken and he died due to suffocation. It was clear that he was murdered by pressing his face with something.
The case of Rajeshwar's disappearance had now turned into a murder case. A case in which everything was mysterious and there were many questions. Who was the person with whom Rajeshwar went in that car on 27 November? If he had gone with that unknown person for some work, then why did he not tell his family about it? And the biggest question - who killed Rajeshwar and why?
How did we find clues about Rajeshwar's murderer
To solve the mystery of this case, the police first spoke to Rajeshwar's driver. He also did not know with whom his master had gone in the car, but he told the police that Rajeshwar had talked to someone on the phone before getting out of the car. According to the report of the Indian Express, when the police took out Rajeshwar's call details, it was found that his last conversation was with Sachin Pawar, who was the personal assistant of a minister of Maharashtra.
Now, the police have also retrieved Rajeshwar's phone messages. The messages revealed that Sachin owed him some money and was constantly asking him to return it. The police were still looking for more clues about Sachin when they discovered that he was constantly taking updates about Rajeshwar's case. The police's suspicion of him deepened further.
Woman's birthday party excuse
The police detained Sachin based on suspicion and when he was questioned strictly, he broke down. Confessing his crime, Sachin said that he had killed Rajeshwar and that some other people including a suspended police constable Dinesh Pawar were also involved in this act. He killed Rajeshwar because he was constantly demanding his money from him.
According to the police, on November 27, Rajeshwar got out of his car and sat in another car with Sachin. Sachin told them that a female friend of his was having a birthday party in Panvel, and everyone was going there. After this, these people bought a cake from a place on the way, in which sleeping pills were already mixed.
The cake was forcibly stuffed in Rajeshwar's mouth
On reaching Panvel, Sachin said that we should cut the cake in the car and then have a party. The cake was cut, but Rajeshwar refused to eat it. Perhaps he had a feeling that something was wrong. After this, Sachin and his friends forcefully stuffed the cake in Rajeshwar's mouth and kept pressing his mouth until he died.
After this, they threw the body in a deserted area and fled. Apart from Sachin and Dinesh, the police also arrested five more people in this case. These were the people who helped Sachin in committing the murder and destroying the evidence. The police also found the shop from where the cake was bought. Also, cake stains were found in the car in which the murder was committed.
