
Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 03 (ANI): Nepali record-setting climber Mingma G. Sherpa received a heroic welcome upon returning home after achieving the remarkable feat of ascending the highest peaks on all seven continents. Mingma G. Sherpa is no stranger to making history. In 2023, he became the first Nepali to successfully summit all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters without using supplemental oxygen, an accomplishment that solidified his reputation as one of the world's most elite mountaineers. On October 4, 2024, Mingma G. reached the summit of Shishapangma (8,027 meters) in Tibet. With this achievement, he became the first Nepali climber to scale all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks and the highest summits on each continent, all without supplemental oxygen—a feat unmatched by many in the climbing community. Notable milestones in his career include summiting Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Kanchenjunga, and Mt. Everest in 2022 without supplemental oxygen, scaling Manaslu in 2021, and numerous other successful climbs in preceding years. Mingma G.’s remarkable journey stands as a testament to his determination, skill, and dedication to elevating Nepal’s legacy in the world of mountaineering.
