The Transport Department in Dehradun is set to take strict action against reckless drivers who endanger public safety. The new regulations aim to immediately cancel driving licenses (DLs) for serious traffic violations, particularly drunk driving.
🛑 Key Offenses That Can Lead to DL Suspension or Cancellation:
✔ Drunk driving 🚗🥃
✔ Overspeeding & rash driving ⚡
✔ Using a mobile phone while driving 📱
✔ Jumping red lights 🚦
🚔 First Offense: Driving license will be suspended.
🚔 Repeat Offense: Driving license will be permanently canceled.
📊 Traffic Violations in 2024:
- 🚗 6,761 vehicles were challaned for reckless driving.
- 🚔 Many licenses have already been suspended for three months.
Despite these penalties, some drivers continue violating traffic laws, prompting authorities to introduce stricter measures.
