In which states will the holiday be affected?
Banks will remain closed in states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana and West Bengal on May 1. However, banks may remain open in Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Nagaland and Meghalaya. Therefore, before going out, definitely check the status of your city.
Problems may increase due to continuous holidays
After this, banks will remain closed across the country due to 2nd May being the second/fourth Saturday and 3rd May being a Sunday. This means that banking work may get stuck for 2-3 consecutive days, due to which people may face problems.
Online banking will remain operational
The good thing is that even during the holidays, online banking services like UPI, Net Banking and Mobile Banking will remain operational 24×7. You can also withdraw cash from ATM, but work like check clearance or draft will not be possible.
