Acclaimed morning show host Nida Yasir has revealed that the hit drama ‘Jannat Se Aagay’, which aired to critical acclaim, was not entirely fictional. In a surprising revelation, Nida confirmed that parts of the drama, including a powerful scene involving theft by a domestic worker, were directly based on her own life.
The drama starred Kubra Khan and Ramsha Khan, and centered on the personal and professional struggles of a woman working her way up in the ruthless world of morning television. One of the most striking scenes in the series showed the lead character, Jannat, discovering that her trusted maid had been stealing from her home — a moment that resonated with viewers for its realism.
Speaking publicly, Nida Yasir confirmed that this exact incident had happened to her years ago. She shared that when her son Balaj was a toddler, she had hired a Filipino maid to help manage her home while she continued hosting live shows shortly after childbirth. Over time, she began noticing that personal items were going missing. Upon investigating, she discovered that the maid had been systematically stealing from her.
Nida recounted that she went to the maid’s residence and recovered three suitcases full of stolen items, including household goods, clothing, and accessories. This real-life event was later adapted into a key scene in ‘Jannat Se Aagay’, showing how art can imitate life in dramatic fashion.
Her confirmation has sparked new interest in the drama and its origins. Fans now see Jannat Se Aagay not just as a compelling TV show, but also as a reflective piece grounded in the very real and complex life of one of Pakistan’s most recognized media personalities.
