Tesla has just launched its Model Y in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). One of the main advantages of buying a Tesla however has been their supercharger network. Tesla will roll out 7 supercharger networks across Delhi NCR and Mumbai regions.
Tesla will start delivering its vehicles in Q3 of 2025. They have come in India a little too late as they had promised that these vehicles would come to India back when the Model 3 was introduced back in 2017. The Model Y is essentially the SUV version of the Model 3 and is the only product in Tesla’s India range for now. Tesla will offer a home wall charger with all its cars but there will be Supercharger stations as well.
Here are the 7 locations where Tesla will open its supercharger network:
Delhi NCR
- Aerocity
- Saket
- Gurugram
- Noida
Mumbai
- BKC
- Thane
- Navi Mumbai
The advantage of Tesla Superchargers
While one of the major advantages of a Tesla Supercharger is basically its network, India is still far from it. There are only going to be 7 supercharger initially. They do charge cars with quite a bit of speed and offers seamless charging experience to Tesla owners using their mobile app and also the car’s infotainment screen.
That being said, internationally, the Tesla Supercharger network can also charge other electric cars, like that of Hyundai and Kia for cars like the IONIQ 5 and the Kia EV6. All you need is an adaptor. This is a win win situation for all EV owners. We do expect Tesla to come up with more chargers in the future and create a network for their cars as they grow in the Indian market.
